Mankind's "Facts" are not necessarily the same as Heavenly "Facts".
In the bible, God, Jesus, and the Prophets mention looking "up" to Heaven.
Since all the Prophets, and Jesus at that time, were in the Middle East, when they looked "up" it was from an easterly position.
I always thought I knew what a fact was. The operative word here is “was”. Not anymore. Now I have to consider whether or not a "fact" originates from mankind or a higher source.
What I used to believe is what Merriam-Webster still defines as “fact”:
- something that has actual existence,
- an actual occurrence,
- a piece of information having objective reality,
- the quality of being actual,
- a thing done.
Evaluating today's "facts", sad to say, one must consider the source. There are people unable/unwilling to tell the truth.
There seems to be a direct correlation between a person who (let’s say) “distorts” the facts and a straight-out liar. “Straight-out liar!” Wow.....that’s harsh.
So, think about this for a minute. When people, regardless of their status in life, choose to deliberately obfuscate the truth by “distorting” a fact, then they lie. Therefore he/she is a liar.
Simple…..painful maybe, but simple.
Do you have any idea what the bible says about liars? It is pretty straight-forward about liars and what God thinks about them…..and where they are headed. The bible doesn’t draw distinctions between little lies, partial lies, and blatant lies. It doesn’t draw any distinctions between someone who lies once in a while or, is a consummate liar.
In short, if you lie, with God you are toast. How’s that for being harsh? The truth DOES have a way of being harsh.

Do the quotes below, from Proverbs and Psalms, bring individuals or groups to mind? Do you not think that the Lord, knowing the past, present, and future, doesn’t know anyone that jumped into your thoughts as you read these verses?
Do you not think that being joined at the hip to such folks will not result in you suffering the same fate as they will?
Has it occurred to you to compare what you see and hear, via social media sites and publications, with your personal “owner’s manual”? (you know, God’s Word, the bible)
While events, facts, and realities prove, every day, that the social media venues are usually wrong and way out of touch, the bible has NEVER been proven wrong or inaccurate.
Why then, would you continue to ignore what the bible says, and rely instead on social media, the politicians, and known liars, while ignoring your conscience that is screaming at you that the path you are going down…..only leads down? Think about that…
Your conscience, your soul…..your very core, keeps hammering at you to let it in, to get you to listen, to pay attention to what is happening around you while you blithely go about digging your hole deeper and deeper.
As if you don’t already know, you are unlikely to get many useful hints or advice from social media or today’s news.
Instead of reading today’s news, read tomorrow’s news…..like Matthew 24:37-39.

When you die, and you will, your soul has to go somewhere…..for eternity. Where it goes is strictly your choice.
To make that choice you need facts.
Do you really want to continue to get your facts from social media and those whose fulltime job is misleading you, OR do you think you might want to check with your personal “Owner’s Manual”?
