Good News Booklet
Reality Check
Depending on your political persuasion, you have heard some of many opinions about what is going on in the today’s world…..especially in the U.S..
Again, depending on your source of today’s “news”, you have been subjected to two basic types of news, factual or fact-free.
As in everything in a free country, you are free to choose what to believe…..or not to believe.
So, how about looking at what you can actually see or experience?
- Do you believe that the Covid-19 Pandemic is a hoax? It is not.
- Do you believe that over 700,000 people died from it? They have.
- Do you believe that Evangelical Christians should condone and support the separation of children from their parents? They do.
- Do you believe that Evangelical Christians should condone and support putting children in cages? They do.
- Do you think it is right for certain legislators to block or try to block legislation aimed at
- supporting the economy,
- fighting the Pandemic,
- strengthening voting rights,
- fighting discrimination,
- and reducing child poverty?
THEY DO.
How do you feel about domestic terrorism aimed at white supremacy?
That is the rage now.
What about those domestic terrorists invading the U.S. Capitol Building and causing the deaths and injuries of those charged with protecting it?
They did.
If you are okay with even one of these things, please don’t read any further. You have swallowed the “Kool-Aid”.
There is nothing further that I could say to convince you that you are on the wrong path. I pray that God will reach you somehow because I obviously can’t.
So…..if you are a gambler, and want to take the chance that the “Some” are correct so you can keep on keeping on, that is your choice. That is why God gave us that choice.
If you want to take the chance that the “Some” haven’t been corrupted by Satan into distorting facts and being misled themselves, by all means drink the “Kool-Aid”. Swig it on down…..but you might want to think about an analogy that happened in the Garden of Eden when the Angel gave the scroll to John:
Revelation 10:10 (KJV)
“And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.”
Like the scroll given to John, the “Kool-Aid” tastes great going down…..then it turns out to be not-so-good.
This is a tiny example of why you need to open your mind to the possibility that what you have believed all your life MIGHT BE WRONG.
Your “Owner’s Manual” has the answers you need to make the choices you need to make.
You can also learn about hatred and evil. (It is only evil that prevents you from learning, OR WANTING TO LEARN, what the bible teaches)
Now, I’m guessing here, and have no basis upon which to think this other than what has happened to me. I think that God deliberately made it difficult to read the bible.
Granted, we are in the twenty-first century and much of the writing occurred thousands of years ago in different lands, languages, and customs.
Except for those cultures directly involved, and unless you are a student of bible history, there is no real driving force to understand what you are reading. I get that.
Further, since none of the bible Books were written in English, and had to be translated so we could read them, it was reasonable to assume that different translators gave different meanings to certain words.
In addition to all that, God chose to inspire much of the text to be put forth as parables. In some cases He, or Jesus, interpreted what specific parables actually meant.
In many cases though, the parables were left to the reader to figure out.
Bible students are still working on the meaning of certain descriptions and accounts in the Book of Revelation.
There is another obstacle to getting into Heaven. Money, wealth, greed, power, and authority. All of which, once accumulated, bitten by, gathered, or stolen, are almost impossible to voluntarily give up. It is Mankind’s nature that once he is comfortable financially, whether he has earned it or used underlings and others as rungs on his ladder to success, he wants to keep it that way.
Matthew 19:23-24 (KJV)
“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”
Tough words…..if you have wealth.
1 Corinthians 1:26-27 (TLB)
“Notice among yourselves, dear brothers, that few of you who follow Christ have big names or power or wealth. Instead, God has deliberately chosen to use ideas the world considers foolish and of little worth in order to shame those people considered by the world as wise and great.”
Have I gotten your attention yet?
Do you think that world conditions right now aren’t indicative of the signs, described in the Book of Revelation (you DID read it didn’t you?) that precede the Second Coming of Jesus?
Some believe that the “End Times” are hundreds, if not thousands, of years away. Others believe it is imminent.
Now, I have to admit that without the Faith in God to believe in things that cannot be seen, and that are very difficult to comprehend, it is natural to be hesitant to accept these things as being true.
